Bioremodelling Treatments

Bio-remodelling injectable treatments are a patented treatment that contains a high concentration of hyaluronic acid, a natural substance found in skin that maintains moisture and elasticity.  It is designed to improve overall skin quality and hydration

As we age, our skin undergoes a multitude of changes, affecting not only its appearance but also the underlying structures. The loss of skin collagen & elasticity, diminishing volume, reduced moisture are all common manifestations of facial ageing.  This results in fine lines, wrinkles, sagging skin and a dull complexion.

This novel product represents a groundbreaking injectable skin rejuvenation treatment, uniquely tailored to address these ageing concerns. Unlike traditional injectables that focus on volume enhancement or muscle immobilisation, this treatment stands apart as a bio-remodelling injectable, dedicated to improving skin quality and hydration. The outcome is a bright and natural-looking skin refresh that rejuvenates your appearance.

What is this treatment made of?

This bio-remodelling injectable is made from hyaluronic acid, the same water-attracting substance found in most dermal fillers. This substance is produced naturally in the body, particularly in the eyes, joints and skin. It plays crucial roles in maintaining skin hydration and helping skin stay strong and supple.

The natural ageing process and damage from environmental factors decrease the amount of hyaluronic acid in our skin and tissues. We also lose collagen and elastin as we age. The combined decline in these three substances contributes significantly to visible ageing.

This injectable contains a specific formulation of the water-attracting hyaluronic acid to improve facial volume, skin elasticity and hydration. It also provides a reduction of wrinkles coupled with a tightening effect and overall improvement in skin quality.

Key Treatment Benefits

Injectable bio-remodelling treatments may have the following benefits:

  • Stimulates the production of collagen and elastin
  • Hydrates skin from the inside out
  • Improves skin firmness and elasticity
  • Enhances skin texture and tone
  • Minimises the appearance of fine lines
  • Creates a dewier, more radiant complexion

Common Treatment Areas

Rejuvenation of the neck, décolletage, backs of the hands, knees and abdominal area are the most common. If you are interested in treating another area, please inform your provider during your consultation.

What are the differences: Bio-remodelling injectable vs. Dermal fillers?

Whilst hyaluronic acid dermal fillers and bio-remodelling injectables contain the same core substance – they are different forms of hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers provide volume, projection and definition, for example to define a jawline and volumise lips. This bio-remodelling injectable consists of a hybrid complex of high and low molecular weight hyaluronic acid, to exert a remodelling effect on the dermal layer of the skin, providing improvement to skin texture and quality.

Who are Bio-remodelling injections for?

This treatment is effective for anyone with concerns about skin ageing, wrinkles, texture and skin dryness and dehydration. As we age, there is a decline in collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid that can lead to structural and functional changes to the skin. This can lead to a decrease in barrier function and hydration, increasing pore size, wrinkles and textural changes. Prior to any treatments at Kaya Cosmedica in South Melbourne, a detailed consultation with your cosmetic injector is performed to assess suitability for treatment.

This bio-remodelling injectable treatment is not recommended for people who have an allergy to the ingredients, have infections or other skin conditions in the treatment area, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have a compromised immune system.

What Is Involved in the Treatment?

During your initial consultation at our South Melbourne cosmetic clinic, your injector will assess your skin and determine your suitability for this bio-remodelling injection. They will also discuss the treatment process, aftercare, risks and benefits, cost and results expectations.

As an example of a typical facial treatment, the BAP technique is utilised. With this technique, there are five standard injection points on each side of the face: the upper cheek, lower cheek, nasal base, jawline and chin. This technique was developed to maximise treatment efficiency and patient comfort. Treatment typically takes around 10 minutes.

Do these Injections Hurt?

At Kaya Cosmedica, we take all steps to ensure you are comfortable and well cared for. This injectable is gently administered using a micro-injection technique and an ultra-fine needle to minimise discomfort. Any injection can sting, but the pain is usually mild and brief. Options for pain relief can be discussed during your consultation.

What Should I Expect After My Treatment?

This treatment is a minimally-invasive treatment with minimal downtime. There will be mosquito bite-like swelling at the injection points, which can last up to six to eight hours. This settles with time and there is minimal bruising.

Most patients can comfortably return to work, school or social activities after their appointment. You will be given aftercare guidelines before you leave our clinic, including instructions to contact us at any time should you have concerns or questions.

What Risks and Side Effects Are Associated?

This injectable is TGA-approved and has a good safety profile, but no treatment is without risk. After this treatment, some patients experience redness, swelling, bruising, itching, lumpiness and/or tenderness around the injection sites. These reactions vary from person to person and are common responses to injections. In most cases, post-treatment reactions are mild to moderate and short-lived with good aftercare.

Rare but more serious risks include persistent lumps and skin infection. Your provider will discuss these with you during your consultation.

How Long Does It Take to See Results?

Typically, a noticeable difference in skin hydration, elasticity, volume and wrinkle reduction is noticed after two treatments (30 days apart) Many patients report a more luminous complexion within 3 weeks after their treatment. In time, there have been reports of improvements in skin tightening, brightening and texture.

How Long Does this treatment Last?

This treatment is not permanent, and the need for top-up and maintenance treatments may vary from two to six months after receiving your initial treatment of two injections. This will be determined by your injector according to your individual needs.

How Many Treatments Are Recommended?

Multiple treatments typically produce the best and most enduring results. To maximise its benefits, it is administered in an initial series of two treatments spaced approximately four weeks apart. After that, the recommended maintenance schedule is one treatment every two to nine months.

Can this Bio-remodelling Injection Be Combined With Other Treatments?

It can be paired with any of our other injectable treatments, including anti-wrinkle injections, dermal fillers and collagen stimulators. These treatments can be done in the same appointment.

If you wish for further improvements in skin texture and firmness, ask your provider about including chemical peels, microneedling, Ultherapy, Tixel or BroadBand Light (BBL) therapy in your long-term treatment plan.
