Omnilux

What is Omnilux?

Omnilux is the gold standard in LED and the number one choice of skincare professionals, celebrities and beauty editors worldwide. Omnilux addresses a wide range of skin concerns, including:

  • Softening of fine lines and wrinkles
  • Improvement in skin tone, acne, vitiligo
  • Post-operative wound healing, melasma, rosacea, psoriasis

Omnilux was developed in the UK by cancer researcher and physicist Dr Colin Whitehurst and has medical and aesthetic credibility with over 40 published clinical papers.

Omnilux can be used in combination with anti-wrinkle injections, dermal fillers, microdermabrasion, microneedling and facial peels.

Omnilux uses three wavelengths to treat a variety of skin concerns:

OMNILUX REVIVE (RED LIGHT) (633NM)

  • Stimulates collagen and elastin by targeting fibroblasts in the skin’s dermis and strengthening the supportive structure of skin

  • It increases blood flow to the skin, leading to greater tissue oxygenation and detoxification

  • The red wavelength is also anti-inflammatory

  • Results in skin that is clearer, has fewer fine lines and is plumped up and hydrated

  • Clinical Efficacy

    ◦ In a recent study, 91 percent of subjects reported an improvement in their skin when using Omnilux alone

    ◦ Over 60 percent reported a softening of fine lines and wrinkles and smoother skin

    ◦ (Dr J Bhat. A single-blinded randomised controlled study to determine the efficacy of Omnilux Revive facial treatment in skin rejuvenation. Lasers in Medical Science 2005 20:1)

OMNILUX PLUS (830NM)

  • Stimulates deeper skin tissue, leading to a softening of fine lines, improved skin tone and smoother skin
  • Used for wound healing, psoriasis and reduction of periorbital wrinkles

OMNILUX BLUE (415NM)

  • Acne results from bacterial colonisation, obstruction and inflammation of the sebaceous follicles
  • One of the key bacteria responsible is P.Acnes. This bacteria produces light-sensitive chemicals called porphyrins
  • When stimulated by the 415nm wavelength, the bacteria is neutralised, reducing inflammation
  • Used in conjunction with Omnilux Revive, it produces a considerable and marked reduction in acne skin lesions
  • Effective, pain-free, non-hormonal treatment
  • Clinical Efficacy
    • In a recent GCP/ICH study, every subject had a significantly successful treatment response. There was a 73 percent reduction in inflammatory lesions between 8 and 16 weeks. (Morton CA, Scholefield RD, Whitehurst C and Birch J.  An open study to determine the efficacy of blue light in the treatment of mild to moderate acne.  Journal of Dermatological Treatment 2005 16:219-223)
    • 89 percent reduction in inflamed acne lesions for mild to moderate acne four weeks after course of treatments

The Procedure

The procedure is quick and pain-free. Each Omnilux treatment lasts around 30 minutes, and it involves lying under a beam of pure red light. It instantly delivers plumper, more radiant skin with no downtime.
